Hello, Transcriber, by Hannah Morrissey

4.0

First off, I’m a Wisconsinite so one of my favorite things was that this story was set in a WI town. I also loved that the author drew on her own personal experience as a police transcriber.

Hazel Greenlee works the night shift as a police transcriber, where she listens to detectives detail horrifying events in Black Harbor. She becomes invested in one of the crimes that she transcribes and finds herself captivated by detective Nikolai Kole.

Hannah Morrissey’s debut is impressive — full of mystery and suspense. The story is a slow-burn, but I was hooked from the start. The characters are all troubled and full of secrets. Hello, Transcriber is a propulsive, atmospheric debut perfect for suspense lovers.
