I have put that the characters are lovable. While this is certainly true of the key characters in the series, as well as most of the characters meant for just this story, Mrs. Freeman and her son Charles are foul. This, however, is not in itself a bad thing. Greenwood very clearly wrote these characters to be dislikable and she achieved this.

The story itself is delicious as usual. If you love the Honorable Miss Phryne Fisher and her adventures, you will undoubtedly love this book.

Spoiler This book is quite different to it's tv counterpart. Equally as good, but large parts of the plot, as well as some of the characters will be unrecognisable.
