The Towering Sky by Katharine McGee
3.0
This last one is 3.5 stars for during the book and 4 stars for the last 25%. It feels like nothing is happening, the whole book is a build up to what you think will be a huge explosion. She definitely delivers though.
I originally didn’t really like Leda. She normally is very whiny to me and always made HORRIBLE decisions but I like her and Watt together because he makes her less annoying. They seemed to steal the plot in this last book, but I’m ok with that!
Avery was a mess during this whole book. She’s so back and forth that i was just irritated. And i find it so weird that she found some random boring guy and like forced herself to fit into his lifestyle. Just bc you hate the way your life is doesn’t mean do the opposite. The author kept alluding to the fact that the parents knew but when they finally found out they seemed to have no idea, so it didn’t add up, BUT I think she recovered herself nicely at the end.
I’m upset they didn’t go deeper into Rylins story. Her sections had no substance it was literally just about cord and even then nothing happened for them until the last 25% and then all of a sudden it was like she was just another girl who gets upset over stupid things, which upset me because Cord and Rylin are my favorites.
Calliope needs to just leave. I hate that she wiggles her way into the story in the first place. You can tell she doesn’t belong in the plot at all.
ALSO SIDENOTE I HATE NADAV AND ELISE IS SO FUCKING SELFISH
I really loved how over the course of the series they kept repeating that quants were dangerous and i never even caught on that it was foreshadowing! The ending was perfect how she tied it all together. I was honestly so surprised with how it ended, but I’m super satisfied with it.
