Fans of the All Souls series will not be disappointed with more from the beloved Bishop-Clairmont family. The story started with ravens and ended with an old enemy who quite frankly causes me such stress when they're on the page.

Much of this story focused on Diana learning about her heritage and putting that into educational action. Her children Pip and Becca were prominent in this tale and their talents were interesting but also put them at risk. The congregation lurked ominously in the background and sometimes in the fore.

Diana and Matthew...I will never bore of reading these two. Seeing these two down the line in parenthood and relationship brought a freshness to their dynamic. The changes brought by the Bishop family revelations were a real challenge for Matthew, as a partner and father. The spark between these two was firey still but there was also a feeling of uncertainty.

Harkness left me in a ball of tension with this ending, not exactly a plunge into the sea but fear at what is to come and I'm not sorry about it. I love reading in this world, these characters old and new. I'm so glad we have more stories to come.
