This book would have hit so hard if I was younger. Even now it hits. It gets you right in the emotions and I can’t even explain why because you need to see for yourself. It’s a delicate beautiful patchwork of emotion, character, identity and words. This book is languid but quick. It’s not tense or suspenseful but it’s filled with emotion. The magical realism is just icing on a gorgeous cake.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE AUDIOBOOK. These narrators went so much harder than they had a right to. Absolutely incredible work.

I think this is the type of book I would recommend to anyone who wants to read something touching, who wants to feel seen.
