The View from Castle Rock by Alice Munro

3.0

My first official Alice Munro short story collection, and I honestly wish I didn't start with this one! It ended up being more of a memoir about her father's families history and journey of immigrating to Canada from the 1800s. There were parts of every story that intrigued me, kept me reading and even had me laughing but for the majority of the book I was just a bit bored. Alice Munro's writing however is exquisite no doubt, and I'm looking forward to reading more of her fiction work. The Ticket was by far my favourite short story!
