The Buddha of Suburbia by Hanif Kureishi

challenging funny tense medium-paced

3.5

I find it difficult to identify with protagonists who are emotionally distant wanderers through the plot, but by the second half I was attached to him anyway. This book is bonkers and funny and very smutty but all in a disturbing way (which is a good way to also describe British cultural politics, so…). I’m glad it’s for book club so I’ll get to think about it and discuss it more.
