Felix Ever After by Kacen Callender

Story: 3.5/5

TW: Transphobia

Felix Ever After was a refreshing read with all its New York City Art School charm. Every single character was fleshed out so well and as a reader, I could feel the rage, frustration, loneliness, and growth that Felix was going through. The struggles of a transitioning transgender person and figuring out one's identityty are conveyed beautifully and are not sugar-coated. The realities of transphobia being present even in places we assume to be safe spaces, which come in small jabs and out-right hateful actions, were also portrayed quite well.

The story as a whole fell short for me but I loved the characters and the way each and every interpersonal relation played out in the book. I would definitely recommend giving this book a shot.
