Sometimes People Die by Simon Stephenson

5.0

I finished this in one day. It reads like a true crime novel without the boring parts lol. Narrated by a young doctor on his second chance after a bout with opioid addiction, the story details the search for the killer responsible for the deaths of hospital patients. Written by a former doctor, the descriptions of medicine and hospitals are detailed and compelling. The mystery is a good one with lots of red herrings along the way. The main characters are sufficiently flawed to be interesting without being cliches.
