I loved this book. It was fast paced and had me gripped from the start. If it was not for me purposefully dragging it out for different reasons I would have binged it so easily and quickly. I loved James/Hook. He was the perfect conflicting, contradictory, dark MMC that I love. You knew he was bad and he owned it and was not going to change that part but you also get to see a softer, sensitive, vulnerable side that melted your heart. He reminded me of Hook from the show Once Upon A Time, who by the way was the main reason I loved the show. I liked Wendy and seeing her grow and let out some of the darker side of her and her anger which she tried to conceal, though at times she was a bit too naive. I did predict one of the main reveals at the end as it was slightly obvious but still loved the reaction of the other characters and finding out the why. I could have done without the epilogues, which is new to me as I normally love epilogues in romances. but I was fine with ending it without them. I loved the mix of spice and romance. I would say this is my first proper dark romance book and I want more as it truly was amazing and I can't wait to pick up the others in this series as I really enjoyed Emily McIntire's writing.
