A Sand County Almanac and Sketches Here and There by Aldo Leopold

5.0

***Original Review:
As an avid naturalist, this is without question my favorite collection of writing. Leopold writes about the world he inhabits with such care, and in spite of the book's 70+ years of age, it reads in many measures as though it were a contemporary piece. If you're looking for a book that enriches your relationship with the world around you, look no further than here.

***Revisited Review:
I have reread this book, and I would just like to reaffirm what I said in my last review, as well as add that many of Leopold's thoughts and views have aged wonderfully well in a modern ecological landscape. The concept of a "Land Ethic" is still one that permeates deeply into ecological discourse. This book is definitely worth a read!
