The Diabolical Bones by Bella Ellis

5.0

I'm really enjoying this series. It's obvious that Ms. Ellis has done deep research into the lives of the Brontës, and her portrayal of their relationship and personalities rings true for me. While the mystery and the characters involved are fictional (although the Haworth Earnshaws and others such as the Heaton family were real people) this one also has elements strewn through it that can be seen as inspiration for the Brontë novels, particularly Wuthering Heights. She doesn't slavishly follow that plot of that book, however, but combines those elements in a completely original and compelling narrative.
