I read this book because I had really enjoyed the TV show version based on this novel. Because of that, I did read the book with some expectations of the storyline, and the characters, and often it seems that the first version of the story you encounter is usually your favorite. So while I loved the TV show, I found the novel so so. It was still good, and I probably would have enjoyed it more had I not seen the TV show first. The changes they made for the TV show really made it more intriguing and I think their choices were really strong. So then I found the novel a bit lacking. Still glad I read it, but would recommend the TV show and skip the novel.
