I think Elle Kennedy got her groove back (for lack of a better phrase) with this entire Campus Diaries series so far as I didn’t love Briar U as much as I loved Off Campus. It really feels like we’re back. She always manages to find the right balance of humor, spice, and sincerity in her writing.

I’ll be honest the first 100 pages I wasn’t sure if I was in love with this romance. The whole hate-to-love aspect of Diana and Shane’s relationship was very one-sided and I thought that Diana’s reasoning for her hatred was disproportionate to the cause. I also thought she took it too far to where it was affecting Shane in other ways which made me not love her character at first. However, as they got to know each other more and grew to become actual friends she became a much more lovable character.
