Slade House by David Mitchell

3.0

As with all of David Mitchell's books this works best when it's not explaining itself to you (barring the near perfect Cloud Atlas). Were it more content to keep its audience on tenterhooks, and not an endless series of parlor scenes culminating in same climax this may have been great. Instead, we're left with tedious set pieces saved by Mitchell's grasp of polyphony.
