The Silent Wife by A.S.A. Harrison

2.0

As many reviewers have stated, this book is wrongly classified as a psychological thriller. I don't think it had many traditional "thriller" elements, though I did find the lead to be interesting. It's not an overly suspenseful novel, overall. The characters are unlikeable - I did like how we got to read both Jodi and Todd's perspectives though. I found myself rolling my eyes at Todd and how ridiculous he was to women.

The thing that really bothered me in this was that it is heavily implied (I believe Jodi also says something to this effect) that ALL men are cheaters - whether with another woman, a bottle, etc. I found this to be extremely stereotypical and is not true of the majority of men I know. The plot line with Jodi and her brothers seemed to be tacked on as well in an attempt to explain why Jodi hides things...

Not my favourite read, though I would say it was more a 2.5 out of 5 stars.
