Really enjoyed this series overall. Found the first two on audible and liked those. And saw book 3 on KU and was glad to return to this world.
Opal is a really fun character. She’s smart and resourceful and just interesting. Her character arc over the three books was good to watch. She always remained true to herself while also growing and learning and being willing to adapt. I like the we got so much of her father in this one. He was mostly a scary background character before. But we got to know him a lot this book.
Unfortunately, Nik was barely in it. But he was still there fighting for and supporting Opal however he could.
This may have been a five star read for me had certain parts not dragged a bit. There were a lot of length conversations and explanations that weighed down the movement of the story. But again, overall I really liked it.
Fun story. Unique premise. Recommend the whole series.
