Apple of Fate by Elle Beaumont
2.0
I wanted so badly to love this book, as Greek Mythology is one of my passions. However, I felt like this novel fell short for me in many ways. The entirety of the novel felt rushed to me, all of the character development and background information was only given at the beginning of the novel. It felt like all of the characterizations were told, and not shown through character actions. I wasn't sucked into the story, even though I wished I could have been.
The entire premise of the novel follows an immortal man sworn to Artemis and a girl from America traveling in Turkey/Greece on vacation. The meeting and development of the relationship was brief and rushed so I had a hard time truly believing in the storyline and supporting the characters. Artemis was also a much weaker character in personality than I would have wished; her godliness fell short for me.
All in all, this was an interesting premise, but didn't pack the punch that I hoped it would.
I was given a preview to this novel through BookSirens!!
