Grady Miller is a star NHL player who excels at everything related to hockey. Scoring with women is a whole different game. Grady is a virgin, and while he's not totally clueless around women, he has a great ability to say the wrong thing around them. A prime example is when he introduced himself to Scout Thomas at a party, even though he's been visiting her very popular donut truck for years. Scout was less than impressed the hockey player she's been crushing on didn't remember her and makes it known every time she glares at him. Grady's determined to apologize to her and become friends with her. He wasn't prepared for how much he would like her and want to be more than friends.

I wanted to read this book because it's a reverse grumpy sunshine, and as a grumpy woman myself, I love reading about grumpy women. Add on the reverse age gap and a virgin hero, I was sold. This was cute. Grady is the star of the book. He's got perfect golden retriever energy mixed with a dirty mouth. He falls first and is sweet with Scout. I love that he found her body beautiful. Scout was okay. I saw parts of my grumpiness in her, especially her stubborn streak. I didn't side with her at the conflict. She was wrong for what she said and did. I'm glad they worked it out, but I was hoping for a little more from the ending.
