A really amazing story.
Steinbeck’s writing is reminiscent of watching a play. With the end of each chapters, we hold on a still moment and you can almost see the stage lights go down as the next act begins. Such an amazing reading experience. A vignette of this collection of characters’ lives, you really get the sense that the story is just a drop in the bucket of a larger world that stretches beyond the pages.
Definitely a high school required reading classic that everyone should return to outside of obligation to give it a true and fair shot.
