Very sadistic. Very bizarre! This is not your typical tuck-me-in-fairy-tale compilation of stories for which Dahl is acclaimed. These stories are haunting; I've read this book my eighth grade year, and I still remember the man with the tattoo on his back, the bullied little boy at the boarding school, the woman who killed her husband, etc. Delightful. Not for kids.
