the foreshadowing was very blatant but it was a surprise twist
with Nina actually being a victim and Andrew being abusive
I found that at times i didn’t want to read anymore because it was the same situation over and over (now i understand it was to drive home how the main character was feeling but it annoyed me) then other points i couldn’t put it down.  It felt pretty stereotypical for the characteristics of every main character, like the stuck up PTA moms and the foreign gardener who doesn’t speak english. I would say this book was exciting for the revenge aspects and a good set up for the series, but i won’t be finishing the series. The author writes in a very easy to digest way while still keeping the descriptions detailed enough; i just find that this book didn’t make me feel good. It was like it was dark for the purpose of shock or to be dark while the happy endings were glossed over.
