A very good mystery, but not a very good Poirot novel. If you look at the Poirot of this tale as a new character who operates as part of a detective team, and not as a pale simulacrum of Christie's genius sleuth, then this is a well-plotted and enjoyable read. However, if you want the original Poirot, you will be disappointed.
