A Beautifully Foolish Endeavor by Hank Green
5.0
I really enjoyed both of these books!!
Also, the internet is very large, very important, and very scary….
This is a sequel that ended up being better than the first book, but both were good. I appreciated the multiple pov chapters. All the characters felt real and fleshed out. The story was really well paced. I even think Hank did a really good job of talking about and tapping into a lot of issues that the internet and society are dealing with as i write this
One thing that’s wild, is that he wrote this pre-pandemic — because it feels creepily prescient at times. Like, specifically the economic downturn that happens post-Carl because “nobody seems to feel like anything has any purpose” is basically lifted out of 2020-present.
This is really, really good sci-fi. It’s a delightful read and the audiobook performances were TOP NOTCH. Like, one of the best audiobook experiences I’ve ever had
