I enjoyed both trilogies but this was probably my least favorite. I don't want to contain spoilers but will mark it anyway. it was really fantastical and hard to connect with. I just couldn't love the main character's love relationship. It just didn't feel natural to me the entire 3 books. Maybe I missed the point but it felt a bit forced.

This was the end of Imriel's story. There were other things I appreciated about Carey's writing. Imriel deals with much childhood trauma and it's addressed a bit in these books, I liked that. Its important.
