This is the second miss by Lisa Jewell for me this year. This was a slow-burn, and there was also a lot going on throughout the story, and also too many characters, so it made it hard to follow what was going on and who I was reading about when. I also accidentally saw a spoiler earlier on, so I knew what to expect and that took the mystery and thrill out of the book for me. I also found the characters unlikeable, which also took me out of the story. I almost DNFed this several times but wanted to see it through for the purpose of finishing more books this month, as I've only finished two so far. Hopefully this doesn't put me in a reading slump. 😑
