Baby Monkey, Private Eye by Brian Selznick, David Serlin

I'm just not sure who the audience is for this in my life. Also, I kept thinking that the changing office would contain clues to the culprit, but... the culprits were just random? I sometimes like it when a picture book has little things for the adults- like the office decor- but also feel like it was a missed opportunity to have something for the kids, and then it feels like a children's book more for adults. That might just be me. But I do appreciate that this felt sort of like a chapter book for picture book readers, which is a really neat concept I'd like to see explored further.
