What My Mother and I Don't Talk about: Fifteen Writers Break the Silence by Michele Filgate

5.0

I enjoyed this collection of essays far more than I thought I would. I genuinely enjoyed each essay and collectively came away with the thought of “mother’s are complex creatures who have lived a whole life outside of their kids and their kids may never know who that woman was”. As someone with a complicated relationship with my own mother, it was interesting to read others perspectives with mothers who are adored, despised, or somewhere in between.
