The World We Make by N.K. Jemisin

4.0

This series was my least favorite of her works, though she’s one of my favorite writers so that’s not a put down. The style here is purposely cartoonish and over-the-top and a little corny compared to her more serious world-building. I didn’t really get the “powers” of the main characters, which seemed more driven by narrative convenience and less cohesive than her other stuff. But fun to read, especially for New Yorkers.
