Apple of Fate by Elle Beaumont

4.0

Thank you Book Sirens and Midnight Tide Publishing for an advance reader copy of this book, I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I love Greek mythology retellings and this one did not disappoint. I found Delia and Acontius to be enjoyable characters. With the book being so short it was hard to connect with the characters and really feel like you know them.

I loved Delia's connection with her dad and how he was concerned for her throughout the book. Acontius was an interesting character that we really only got to see as an innocent and aloof person. I would have liked to see some more of his complex thoughts that would have allowed us to understand his loneliness.

I thought the author had an appropriate amount of tweaks to the original myth that kept this story interesting and relevant. Overall I plan to continue the series, and check out more works by the author.
