Daughter of the Siren Queen by Tricia Levenseller

5.0

5 stars!

This book, like its predecessor, was brilliant! The book starts a few weeks after the events in season one, and this one is more action packed than DotPK. The action starts right off the bat, and it also managed to pack in some plottwists I did not anticipate. I really like the character development in this novel, though I did find it a shame the way Draxen was basically dismissed in this book. I would have enjoyed it if a bit more time would have been spent on nicely finishing his story. All in all, I really loved this story and I am a bit sad that this was the final book, though the story was finished in a very satisfying way.

Some quotes I liked (for various reasons) (may contain slight spoilers):

"You can't be serious. Kearan has the emotional depth of a clam."

"For the last damned time, Mandsy, I don't want any water! I just spent the last ten minutes coughing it out of my lungs."

"I almost don't call him out on it, but if he's going to insult me, he better have the balls to do it to my face."

"I would brave far worse for anyone in my crew, but did there have to be bugs?"

Spoiler "One of these days it would be nice to do something normal with you," Riden says as he punches a looming face, then stabs the cannibal in the stomach."

"That's twice I've been honest with you, Alosa. Twice I've made myself vulnerable to you. That's supposed to go both ways."
