For a while, I was hesitant about reading this book because I thought I didn't want to read about video games... Well, Gabrielle Zevin made me want to read about video games! The most impressive thing about this book is her creativity and world-building, along with a couple genius plot points. She uses the culture of video games to say larger things about real life, which were thought-provoking. I don't always find friendship books to be compelling, but I enjoyed this complex friendship between Sam, Sadie, and Marx. I don't think this is the best book I've ever read, but it was very well-done.
