Appalling.
I was excited to start this series as I’ve enjoyed the Netflix show and heard that it paled in comparison with the books.
That is a good thing.
The unbelievable objectification, misogyny, and pedophilia (describing a 14-year-old girl as “ugly” due to her “small pointed breasts”) leads me to DNF this at 35%. There’s no way I’m slogging through more of this in hopes of good stories later.
