Your Own Kind of Girl by Clare Bowditch

5.0

This was a really heartfelt, warm memoir from an icon of the Australian music scene. Claire does such a good job of capturing moments from her youth and taking you inside her mind and the mental illness that plagued her. The audiobook is narrated by Claire herself, who is a wonderfully engaging storyteller, and she sang sections of her songs throughout. Her mother delivered the content warning at the start which was also very moving. A beautiful and worthy piece of writing.
