The Art of War by Sun Tzu

Underwhelming. Written in quite a philosophical almost lyrical way, it is more vague than you'd expect given how often it gets referenced in the general discourse.

Would be much more interesting to encounter this in a military academy. The book gives very high level concepts and probably is a good prompter of discussions. Would be fascinating to hear people with real life experience of conflict and high level international politics apply this to the real world.

But in terms of the book itself, I don't see why anyone would read this other than curiosity given its fame and cultural status. There is very little to it
