I saw this book being referenced so much in the last couple of years so I wanted to see what the hype was and it did not disappoint. The story offers very little regarding world-building as we are limited to the prespective and knowledge of OfFred, in a world where the women aren't even allowed to read due to the fear of rebellion it is no wonder why they would keep a lot of information from the handmaid. The lack of information was almost enough to only give it 3.75 stars however the ending where we see the future perspective of the era being in a academic conference gave it so much more context and life that I finally understood the book . It was an almost perfect book, I just wish we could have seen more of the world. I cannot wait to read the sequal.
