I can see that this novella exists to help the audience sympathize with Warner after how batshit crazy he seemed in book one, and I was very surprised by how much I enjoyed his point of view. I mean the entire thing is just him spiralling because he doesn’t know how to have feelings and his life is a disaster but I still wanna hug his crazy ass.

It’s absolutely hilarious to see Warner describe Juliette as “unnaturally calm” when I spent all of book 1 thinking about how over dramatic she was about everything 😂 sweet Warner, you dumb simp.

I think this was a really interesting way of showing how drastically different Warner and Juliette are as narrators, and a very good use of first person to achieve that. Juliette is overly emotional where Warner is very stoic and factual. Juliette thinks so little of her own misery while Warner is constantly spiralling about how miserable he is. Juliette is ruled by her fear while Warner is constantly pushing his fear down.

V INTERESTING. I can’t believe I’m going to fall in love with Warner. Oy vey.
