Mr. Wrong Number by Lynn Painter

3.0

A cute premise, yet not pulled off as smoothly as I'd prefer. Painter excels at writing witty banter and tangible tension, and she does this very well with Olivia and Colin as the plot slowly unfolds. Unfortunately, the plot takes on a little too much, leading to a convoluted story that ends up giving the couple a lot of miscommunication and three major conflicts to work through, which became frustrating. Olivia was a challenge to like, especially at the beginning, as she often acted rashly as well as being clumsy and accident-prone to a ridiculous degree. I think Painter may be better suited to writing for a young adult audience, but will continue to try her work aimed toward adults to see if my opinion changes.
