What a gorgeous book. A poignant slow burn with so much to say about life and time and what the inevitability of death means for all of us. I've seen enough reviews of this book to expect that I would love it, but I didn't quite expect it to be so rich in language and imagery. Oftentimes with these uber-popular books, I automatically assume that they will be easy reads with interesting stories that make you think but not too much. That's my own fault, I understand. But I was very happily wrong about that in this case. Addie LaRue makes you think about so many things from so many angles and leaves you feeling like no matter how you view these big questions, nobody is really ever completely right or wrong. I love the dilemmas of morality, and I thought that this author handled them with beauty and care.
