I get that in part this book is an allegory for survivors of abuse. And I think for the most part that allegory worked. What I didn’t care for were any of the characters, the very slow plot, the odd imagery, and the unrealistic dialogue. I just think they didn’t seem like 28 year old characters. It seemed like they’d been intended to be high schoolers and changed last minute? Just not my type of book I guess.
