The Heart of Betrayal is a more than worthy sequel to A Kiss of Deception. However, although it picks up right after events from the first novel, there are some major differences between the two. The world building is more advanced, and the novel shifts more to military strategy than romance. Lia’s character’s has progressed as well, into a strong, confident protagonist. It does fall into some lulls, common in most second novel fantasy’s, but I am excited to pick up the last book.
