Did not finish book. Stopped at 30%.

Epic struggle of the American working/under-class.  I was not captivated by the writing, and the conceit felt super 19th-century to me.  The nail in the coffin was that, while I liked the multiple voices who read different characters, the principal actor was not to my taste, in particular when he read women’s lives in a simpering near- falsetto.  Meh
