It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover
5.0
It feels so good to read a book you have no idea about, turns out to be SO SO good!!
I came into the first 100 pages of the novel with a feeling of "meehhh... only romance and simple conflicts", until I read the journals of Lily to Ellen. I love Lily and Atlas so so much I found Ryle a little bit annoying at first. Fast forward, I suddenly knew that this book is not at ALL about simply romance and a conflict in choosing between him or him. It's a LOT MORE than that.
I finally understood the claims Colleen Hoover put on the first page of the novel:
"For my father, who tried his best not to be his worst.
And for my mother, who made sure we never saw him at his worst."
I poured much too powerful tears on the last 100 pages. I love how personal the feelings has gotten through every readers, it pained so much, even the novel deserves a calm hug :'(
To every abused fighters, I'd like you know that nobody is ever lonely. Nobody is ever so lovely to beat you up and love you too much at the same time.
