The Touch of Fire by Linda Howard
3.0
It was really good, although I'm not one for historical romance. I liked the history involving the "Lost Confederate Papers" so that it had that hint of truth to it, like in Clive Cussler's novels. It seemed almost like a typical "hostage falling in love with her captor" story, though, except for that strange "magical" effect that the two had...that part seemed a little strange in this type of story. The main thing I found strange though, was that, after running into Atwater, they never really come into that much trouble after that...so much of the story was supposed to be about McCay being on the run from bounty hunters, but that changed after Atwater...it almost seemed to fizzle out after that. I guess I just wanted the action to go all the way through :)
