Switch Stance by Andrea Johnston, M.E. Carter

5.0

Adeline Snow is an author, and the persona of a very insecure and awkward dork. Adeline is the epitome of a bad-ass who LOOKS like she has her life together. This story, Switch Stance, gives us a glimpse behind the scenes if you will. Behind her signings, her travel antics, and her love of photography. Adi is exactly every author I can think of when they have to be "on" for a signing or appearance. Then her normal self, in the olaf pajamas with room service, is exactly how I picture them all when they get to turn it "off". I loved the honestly behind that part of this story.

'Nope. Definitely not the hairy barista. Let’s try this again. Close your mouth, relax your eyes, deep breathe, now speak…

“I write books,” I blurt out. Spencer looks at me like I’m a freak of nature because obviously I am.'

Spencer is the dreamboat of an athlete - pro-skateboarder, living the high life and has a wonderfully generous heart to boot. On paper, he's perfect. No one thought that being paired up with Adeline would start up this connection that was undeniably heartwarming and real. It's beautiful to see their connection grow from just an initial attraction.

This story is one that will make you giggle at Adi's dorkiness; want to befriend Spencer's sister, Kate; and want to give spend the night in Lexington! There are a few other secondary characters that make this story what it is, and it wouldn't be the same without them! If you have read Amazing Grayson by ME Carter or Bourbon & Bonfires by Andrea Johnston, you will recognize some names!

These two power house authors who write completely different genres came together to make one amazing romantic comedy, and pulled it off with flying colors and five stars. It's heavy on the romance connections, and light on the comedy, with a couple of chuckle out loud moments. It's the perfect formula, and a great combination for these two ladies.
