Did not finish book.
I tried so hard to enjoy this book, but it felt like a chore, so I’ve finally given in. DNF’ing this at 61%. It was too cringey and ridiculous for me, and what romance there was involved a man far too perfect to be believable or interesting.
I did like the insight into Chinese-Indonesian families and ceremonies, which is why I’m giving this two stars, but even then, it felt like I was being lectured to at times instead of it all being just part of the story.
