The Prison Healer by Lynette Noni

Ya girl is out of her 2-year reading slump :’) tenkyu Ms. Noni <3 and my boo for getting me a kindle this weekend for our anniversary, tenkyu for supporting my hobbies ily

I really enjoyed this! It was exciting. I wasn’t very critical since I was really just looking to get back into reading so this was just fun for me. The romance was embarrassing and cute just like all the good ones are. The story was surprisingly captivating even when romance wasn’t there which is a nice little character development in me yey. I also really like the politics and I’m excited to see how it all plays out. I didn’t even catch the plot twists, really loved that for me lol. And they were good twists!! Ugh so good. I love the set up for the next book and can’t wait to see where we go with the story.

SPOILER? Maybe idk but if I were to think about it…

I could say there were times that I felt Kiva was being a little too adamant regarding how she wanted to keep distance from the other characters at first. Like totally get that for her but it felt like the author had character points she wanted kiva to have and continued to enforced them even though her character was experiencing things that developed her personality and thoughts past that apprehension and distance. She could have overcame that trait earlier even more naturally imo.

Also, the revelation at the end, like it felt like a change up in her personality. And how did she not recognize the lady?? Idk if I missed that and Idk how much of a switch up she’ll have now… and if it will organic. We shall see cuz I’m still seateddddd, let’s gooo.
