Nathan der Weise by Gotthold Ephraim Lessing

2.0

I think I would give this book much fewer stars if I had actually read it and had not listened to the broken down version. I had to read this for school and after skimming a few chapters, I knew I would not get through this, if I actually had to read this, so the audiobook was a true lifesaver. But ignoring the writing style and the fact that I hate script books, the story was not always boring. It was dumb sometimes, and I don't understand, why the author had to make Recha and that other guy, I forgot his name, siblings, even though the story would have been perfectly fine without it. But but but, it was a plot twist I kind of didn't see coming, I thought they were cousins but anyway. I don't understand why we still read this in school, but I'm finally through with it, so it does not concern me anymore. Well, after exam day it doesn't...
