Summer of '69 by Elin Hilderbrand

5.0

What a perfect summertime read! I managed to fall in love with each character, I loved their individuality, their story, I cried along with them, and celebrated as they overcame each obstacle. As a history major, 1969 has always been an intriguing year, I appreciated the historical fiction elements of events such as Woodstock, the moon landing, and Senator Kennedy's accident. The time was trying and eclectic, Hilderbrand portrayed that quite excellently in this piece.
** read all the way through the author's note, I LOVED her personal touches that she elaborates on in her note.
