It's a very heart-warming story of paths that cross. I'm not too much of a fan of how one of the main characters dies, as this usually happens in war-based stories but I did enjoy the epilogues to see how the characters ended up. It was a bit too detailed as I found that I was dragging myself until 2/3 of the book. It felt a bit anticlimactic but it was still beautifully written.
